Down syndrome, also referred to as “Trisomy 21” refers to a genetic disorder resulting from a third copy (partial or full) of chromosome 21. Down syndrome has varying severity of intellectual disability, growth retardation, and characteristic facial features.

• Since children with down syndrome may not present with impairments at a young age, it is important to perform more evals than just the one at the 3mo mark.
• Research shows that we are prob going to be missing a lot of other things (bc eval is a snap shot)
